Is Jobber Worth It for a Plumbing Shop?

Jobber publishes its prices, which already puts it ahead of most field service software. Here is what those prices really add up to for a small shop, and the one line item that trips people up.

Jobber is worth considering if you want published pricing and a trial you can start without a sales call. It is not a $49 decision. What you actually pay depends on the plan, the billing commitment, the number of users, the add-ons, and how you take payments.

Jobber publishes its prices, and that counts for something

Jobber puts its prices on a public pricing page. You can see all four plans before handing over your phone number or sitting through a demo.

That is a real difference from trying to pin down what ServiceTitan actually costs, where there is no public number at all and every path leads to a sales call. Jobber gives you a starting point. Start there, not at a comparison blog.

The four plans are Core, Connect, Grow, and Plus. Each one is listed at three different prices, depending on how you commit:

  • Core: $49 a month with no commitment, $39 a month on a 1 year commitment, or $29 a month prepaid annually.
  • Connect: $139, $119, or $99 a month on those same three terms.
  • Grow: $199, $169, or $149.
  • Plus: $499, $439, or $399.

Those numbers are useful. They are also where people start making bad comparisons.

The price you see depends on how you commit

The no commitment price can be cancelled anytime. The 1 year commitment is a 12 month minimum, billed monthly. Prepaid annual means you pay the full year upfront, and that payment is not refundable if you cancel early.

Those are three different financial decisions, not three ways of printing the same price. The $29 Core figure and the $49 Core figure are the same plan. One of them just has your whole year attached to it.

Then there are seats. Core’s price includes one user. Every additional user is $29 a month, on every plan. For Connect, Grow, and Plus, Jobber’s page uses a user count selector, so the number of seats bundled into the headline price shifts depending on what is selected. Confirm the seat count on your own written quote rather than trusting a number you saw in a search result.

This is how the budget actually gets blown. Someone picks the attractive sticker price on a weeknight, signs up, and the seat count becomes the problem three months later when the apprentice and the person doing the books both need logins.

The trial is 14 days with full access to Grow plan features, and no credit card required. That is genuinely useful, but watch what you are testing. A shop tries Grow, likes a specific feature, then signs up for Core to save money and finds that the feature was never in Core to begin with. The trial is a reason to test the software. It is not a substitute for reading the plan comparison.

Processing fees and add-ons sit on top

Jobber lists its payment processing rates publicly too. Credit cards run 2.9% plus 30 cents. Tap to Pay is 2.7% plus 30 cents. Bank or ACH payments are 1%. Instant payouts add another 1% on top.

The paid add-ons are priced separately from the plan:

  • Marketing Suite: $99 a month
  • AI Receptionist: $29 a month
  • Pipeline: $49 a month

So a $29 prepaid Core price is nowhere near your real Jobber budget if you need extra seats, an add-on, and card processing on most of your invoices. Before you line Jobber up against ServiceTitan alternatives worth looking at, write down the version of the product you would actually use, then price that. Not the smallest number on the page.

Jobber sells its own answering add-on now

This is worth being straight about, because it changes what you are comparing.

Jobber sells a product called Jobber AI Receptionist. In Jobber’s own words, it “is available as an add-on to any plan, and is included at no additional cost with the Plus plan.” On the pricing page the add-on is listed at $29 a month. Jobber says it answers calls and texts around the clock, books appointments, takes messages, captures lead details, transfers calls when needed, and recognizes returning customers.

We have not tested it, so we are not going to tell you it is bad. What we will tell you is not to decide from the label. An answering feature bundled into job management software and a service built only for answering the phone are not automatically the same purchase, in either direction. The way to find out is to call both and listen to how each one handles a real plumbing call. Ask what happens when the caller has water coming through a ceiling, when the caller wants a Saturday slot, and when the caller has used you before. The differences that matter show up in those three calls, not on a feature list. That is also the test we would put on any of them, including the reasons most AI answering services fail plumbers.

For what it is worth on our side of the table, Plumber Secretary publishes its prices too: Starter at $95 a month, Growth at $295, and Pro at $495. Bella answers around the clock, including nights, weekends, and holidays. She books the job on the calendar, flags a real emergency by text, remembers repeat customers by name, and sends you a summary of the call.

That is a separate buying question from whether Jobber is good job management software, and it is worth keeping it separate. If missed calls are part of why you started shopping in the first place, how much are missed calls costing you and the receptionist or answering service math will do more for that decision than another pricing page will.

Get these answers before you sign

Ask Jobber for a written quote using your real user count, and confirm all three prices for the plan you want: monthly, 1 year commitment, and prepaid annual.

Then get answers to these:

  1. Which plan includes the features you actually used during the Grow trial?
  2. What is the total monthly cost once every user who needs a login has one?
  3. Are you choosing no commitment, a 12 month minimum, or prepaid annual?
  4. What happens financially if you cancel a prepaid annual plan early?
  5. Which add-ons are in the quote, and which are extra?
  6. What processing and instant payout fees apply to the way you actually get paid?
  7. Is Jobber AI Receptionist included in your tier, or is it the $29 add-on?

And ignore the comparison posts showing Jobber prices that do not match Jobber’s own page. Those floating numbers are exactly why searching “Jobber pricing” feels contradictory. The vendor’s page plus a written quote are the only two things worth budgeting on.

So: is Jobber worth it? If you need job management and you like knowing the price before the sales call, it earns a look. Just price the real version, not the headline. And answer the phone question separately, because it stays open no matter which software you pick. If you want to hear what that side sounds like, call the demo line at (669) 284-5564 and listen to Bella take a call, or see it for yourself.
